BethAnn Slater, the Head of School and Primary directress of Middleburg Montessori School loves children and the development of children. She has an AMI Montessori Certificate as well as a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Development and has taught for over fifteen years both in public and private settings.
Maria Valdivieso, Director of Marketing and our Primary Assistant, is passionate about her work. In the primary environment she speaks soley Spanish, allowing our children to be immersed in the Spanish language throughout their day. She has completed her AMI Primary Assistants training and is a loving Montessori mom of two!
Dora received her Bachelor's degree in Preschool Education from Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico. Dora Arellano loves her children! She is a natural aid to child development and a wonderful asset to our community and the toddler room. In the toddler environment she speaks soley Spanish, allowing our children to be immersed in the Spanish language throughout their day.
Cristina Coretez was born in Southern California but spent most of her early childhood years back and forth between the U.S and Mexico. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies, Pre-credential with an emphasis in elementary education and a minor in Spanish from California State Polytechnic University. She recently moved to Upperville, VA and was instantly drawn to the Montessori method of teaching. She has her AMI Primary Assistants training from Washington Montessori Institute. She loves working with children of all ages and strives to encourage them to develop a lifelong love of learning, self-confidence, and independence in a positive manner.
Kaitlyn Lehan has a Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child Development from Bridgewater College. She loves working with children and helping to foster their development each and everyday. She wants to make known that learning is joyful and exciting experience we get to take part in everyday.
Kim Walton cherishes her time with children and is the Assistant Head of School and Elementary directress. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Bucknell University, an AMI Elementary Certificate completed at the Montessori Center of Minnesota, and an AMI Assistant’s Certificate. Most recently she has completed her Masters in Education from St. Katherine's University.
Cassella Slater is the Director of Admissions and the Adolescent directress of Middleburg Montessori School. While teaching agriculture in Ghana for a year, she unexpectedly fell in love with teaching and the adolescent age. She has a Bachelors of Science in Animal and Poultry Sciences from Virginia Tech, and in 2015 completed her NAMTA/AMI Adolescent Training in Chihuahua, Mexico. Most recently she completed her AMI Elementary Training from the Montessori Training Center of Minnesota.
Lupita Gutierrez has energy that is unmatched. She makes the extended day program engaging and exciting for the children. With a smile always on, the children love her! In the elementary and extended day environments she speaks soley Spanish, allowing our children to be immersed in the Spanish language throughout their day.
Louise Searle has a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and a Master of Science in Education, and her AMI Primary Assistants training. With experience working both at nonprofits and in public elementary education, she became interested in Montessori through her own daughter’s experience in a Montessori School.
